DMA Architects are proud to have been engaged once again by Thorlabs UK to assist in delivering their 7-year expansion programme on Lancaster Way Business Park. The first part of the programme will comprise a new extension to the existing facility. Thorlabs are keen to enhance the level of renewable energy generated on site. For this reason, provision has been made for the installation of PV panels to cover the entire extension roof area with the ability to extend the amount of solar panels over the existing roof in the future. A considerable number of electric vehicle charging points will also be added to the existing car park as well. A fast charging point for lorries and large vehicles is planned for the new service yard area.  A new social external space with a mix of hard and soft landscaping will form part of the extension works too and will have direct access to the new staff entrance which forms part of the new extension.
